Also, before your departure, do not forget to ask the "Direction Départementale du Travail et de l'Emploi (DDTEFP)" at the place where the company you are leaving has its headquarters, to fill in form E 301 and ask the unemployment institution in the host country for information.
The resigning spouse may be compensated for a maximum of 3 months if, before leaving, you have acquired unemployment benefit rights in France. To do so, you must register as a jobseeker with the Assedics before leaving and have provided the Assedics with supporting documents proving your status as a spouse and the professional reason for transferring your residence to another European country. Before leaving, the Assedics must complete form E 303 for the transfer of rights.
Warning :
This rule does not apply to a wife who resigns from her employment to follow her spouse who is performing her national service in a European country under cooperation agreements between countries.
